+When you first open Vail, you are using the "straight key". You can press the button labeled "Key" to send a beep, and you will hear a tone.

+Shortcuts

+* On a computer keyboard, you can press the enter key.
+* If you have a game controller, you can press A or B.
+* If you have a MIDI keyboard, you can play C in any octave.

+Practice Repeaters

+If you click on the arrow next to the repeater name (probably "General"), you will see a list of options.
+Some of these are "local" or "practice" repeaters:
+nothing you send will go to the Internet.

+* *Fortunes* - Sends a fortune cookie text every so often.
+* *Echo* - Will echo back whatever you enter, with a delay.
